LOBS – Livelihood Oriented Business School for Women, stationed at Kozhikode is a not-for-profit organization working for the development of women. It has emerged from the successful experiences of a group of social activists who work for the development of entrepreneurial skills among women. LOBS conducts research, training and institution-building activities for encouraging the participation of women and other special target groups in entrepreneurial activities<\/p>\n

LOBS helps women to develop entrepreneurial attitude and work skills, with the hope that its guidance and involvement will encourage them to create small businesses, earn a livelihood which will in turn boost up their self-esteem.<\/p>\n

LOBS aims at women who can become business owners through well conceived training interventions and capacity building activities. LOBS has established linkages with nationwide network of organizations and institutions committed to entrepreneurship development.LOBS Kerala has established the following institutions as part of promoting women entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

Women Entrepreneurship Development is an essential part of human resource development. The development of women entrepreneurship is very low in India, especially in the rural areas. However, entrepreneurship amongst women has become a serious concern recently. Women have become aware of their existence, their rights and their work situation. Women enterprises are emerging in as one of the sources of economic growth in India. They began to make models to economic development. Women entrepreneurs create new jobs for themselves and others and provide the society with different solutions to business problems.<\/p>\n

The role of women in developmental activities has been explicitly recognized with a marked shift in the approach from Women Welfare to Women Development and Empowerment. The development of women entrepreneurship has become an important aspect of our plan priorities. Several policies and programs are being implemented for the development and empowerment of women in India.\u00a0Let\u2019s hope the women of modern India would be able to lead the society to a bright future.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n
